Richard Mille RM 55-01 puts the focus on an airy hand-wound movement

The new RM 55-01 Manual Winding develops Richard Mille’s interest in visual lightness. Its openworked construction puts the time-only movement at the centre of the design, with hours, minutes and seconds displayed over an exposed mechanical structure.
RMUL4 and technical composites
The hand-wound RMUL4 calibre uses a grade 5 titanium baseplate and bridges, with surface treatments that bring out the different levels of the architecture. A double-barrel system supports a power reserve of approximately 55 hours.
The watch is presented in Carbon TPT, White Quartz TPT and Grey Quartz TPT. Their layered surfaces give each version a different appearance while retaining the same open mechanical layout. The emphasis is on structure, material and finishing rather than an additional complication.
