Richard Mille boutique allocation — step-by-step
Below we explain how allocations work, what profile boutiques look for, realistic timelines, and how our Private Desk manages the process, including acceleration where possible.
How an allocation works
1) Define the target
Exact reference, preferred case/material, colorway, and tolerance for alternates.
2) Profile + city
We prepare a succinct client profile and decide the best city/channel for your case.
3) Boutique process
We submit, monitor status, and keep you informed. If the model changes status, we adjust.
4) Handover
Settlement per boutique policy. Delivery is arranged or a Geneva handover is scheduled.
Need a buy-now alternative? See Swiss vault path (5–7 days insured).
What boutiques look for (client profile)
Signals that help
- Clear intent and realistic timeline.
- Coherent story: how you will wear the watch, collection focus.
- Prior ownership in haute horlogerie (not mandatory).
- Flexibility on dials/case if status changes.
What to avoid
- Generic “any RM” requests.
- Unrealistic timelines for hype references.
- Price-shopping with no model commitment.
Example profile A (collector)
Modern sports pieces; travels between Dubai and Geneva; aims to add an RM 67-02 Sprint within 6–9 months; open to color variations.
Example profile B (first RM)
Wears slim pieces daily; prefers extra-flat RM 67-01; timeline 9–12 months; flexible on strap/set options.
Timeline & acceleration
Allocation timelines depend on the reference, boutique policy, and your profile. We give a realistic range before we submit and propose acceleration options if available.
- Status check: confirm if the reference is current production.
- Queue dynamics: how many similar requests the boutique has.
- Acceleration: alternative specs, event invitations, or a staged plan.
Choosing the city
Boutique policy varies
Some cities prioritise locals, others welcome travelling clients. We match your case to the city with the best odds.
Travel & handover
We can coordinate a Geneva handover at our Private Desk or manage delivery per policy.
Parallel plan
For time-sensitive cases, we may run an allocation attempt in parallel with a buy-now quote.

FAQ
Do allocations always require previous purchase history?
No. History helps but is not mandatory. We tailor the approach to the model and city.
Can I switch models mid-process?
Yes, if your priorities change or the status shifts. We keep the request coherent and avoid resetting your position unnecessarily.
Can I pursue allocation and buy-now at the same time?
Yes. Many clients do. We keep paths coordinated to avoid conflicts.
