Paperwork & set: what to verify

Full set (ideal)

  • Original warranty card (serial & reference match)
  • Box (inner/outer), booklets, tags
  • All links (bracelet sized back to full)
  • Original purchase date & retailer (if applicable)

Serials & engravings

Check the serial on the rehaut/case vs warranty card. Engravings should be crisp, not sanded/polished flat.

Dial / bezel / hands

Confirm correct dial/bezel set for the exact reference and production year; look for non-factory modifications.

Red flags

  • Mismatched serial/reference on the card
  • “Aftermarket” parts represented as factory
  • Missing card while priced as full-set

Condition grading (how it affects price & safety)

Unworn / Like new

Factory stickers present or removed recently; sharp lines, no wheel marks. Premium over other grades.

Excellent

Minimal wear, light hairlines only; no over-polish. Full set keeps liquidity high.

Good

Honest wear or prior polish; still clean and mechanically sound. Make sure price reflects grade.
